Me and the Congresswoman

The short grey-haired person on the left is obviously me. The really tall well-dressed professional looking person on the right is Democratic Congresswoman Ann Kirkpatrick.  She spoke at my clubs' luncheon at the Desert Diamond Casino today.

Her district is really interesting.  (It's not mine.)  It is the tenth largest in the country and the one with the largest Native American population in the nation.  (Mostly Navajo.)  It stretches all the way from the Utah border down to Tucson, excluding Phoenix.  It encompasses almost half of our state - which is huge,  itself!!

She's a moderate in the Congress but gave a really great progressive speech and won over the skeptics in the room.  She garnered a lot of donations before she had to leave the event!
