Pike Place

The Pike Place Market is a feast for all senses. This street musician at the Pike Place Market has a gimmick in order to draw crowds and earn more tips. Balancing his guitar while hula hooping in between guitar sets certainly was entertaining.

It seems fitting that I would choose a balancing act as my blip for today because today, our most heavily scheduled day of our vacation, was a definite balancing act!

We met friends for breakfast at 9:00 a.m. & then met another set of friends at the Market at noon. The Market was bustling with tourists and locals alike but we managed to maneuver through the stalls and see all that the Market has to offer.

Next up was a ferry ride to Vashon Island & the stars aligned as we found our way easily and did not have to wait for a ferry. We were rewarded further with magnificent views of the Olympic mountains AND Mt. Rainier! It's always special when 'the mountain' is out and it was exciting being able to share this with my husband.

Dinner on the Island at the home of friends was wonderful. A truly relaxing time. The return trip on the ferry at dusk was another perfect viewing of the mountains. Not out of steam yet we decided to plug the address of a restaurant noted for oysters into the GPS. Sitting in a trendy restaurant with my husband eating oysters was a nice end to our busy day.
