Eve and Uncle Andrew

Just for a little change, I thought I would post a shot of Andrew and his favourite niece.
This afternoon, MaggieD and I took a run up the Carron valley and stopped off at the side of the reservoir. Pure blissful utter silence then, just as we were about to move on, we heard a faint "mew" and there was an osprey cruising over. Another one joined after a minute but they did not venture close enough for a decent photo. They just patrolled over the far side of the water before vanishing behind the hills.
We will not see many more this year as they will be off for warmer climes in the next week or two. We also saw quite a few swallows gathering ready for their own journey south. Always sorry to see them go, it confirms that summer is done for another year.
