Lunch

Had to go to Staveley today to return some first aid training kit I'd borrowed for work.

On the road outside work the traffic going the other way was horrendous. Nearly as bad as a bank holiday.

Realising the hold up going back was going to delay me about 40 minutes, I decided to have lunch at Wilf's in Staveley Wood Yard. A great cafe.

This is the outside eating area, overlooking the River Kent. From about now and through the Autumn salmon can be seen progressing upstream by means of the fish ladder on the right.

No fish seen today. More rain needed to lift the water level so they want to run upstream.

I have always wondered how fish manage to run without any legs.
