The waders of Blacktofts

A day spent at RSPB Blacktoft Sands.

So many different birds about today.
So here is a little egret, black- tailed godwit, and green sandpiper.
(hope I've got them right!)
We also saw some ruff, snipe, redshanks, grey wagtails, plovers, among others.

What a change to have a nice warm day.

We also found some wild plum trees. As usual the plums were all at the top, and out of reach, so MrC decided to shake the tree to bring a few down.
Well I was bombarded by dozens of plums. All showering down on my head!!
Couldn't do anything but laugh!
They did taste good though!!
Provided a good dessert after our ham salad sandwiches.

It is one of the nicest RSPB reserves. Near the river Humber.
So quiet. All you can hear is bird song. (except when a jet flies over!)
It is also a very friendly place.
There is always someone who will help me tell a redshank from a ruff!
