Hmmm. Another positive hit on a potential location which is big enough without being overly large and threatening. It also has a very respectable supply of outside including a suitably scientifically secular exterior location for the ceremony, weather permitting. I would obviously be perfectly happy to still have it outside even if it's pissing it down but I expect not all the guests would concur. Luckily the venue has indoor spaces too although if it's overcast it could be a little problematic for the ideal of naturally-lit photography.

We also had our proper first clash with Nicky's mum (I'll update the portrait for yesterday tomorrow) over her inability to respect our wish to not blow huge wodges of cash on unnecessary frippery such as a fancy-ass sit-down multi-course waitèd meal by having a sort of barbecue buffet thing instead on the grounds that the fanciness of the interior would not lend itself to something as informal as paper plates. At least , that's the excuse she's giving. She was also asking far too many questions about flowers for my liking. Having now escaped via a calming (plastic-plate buffet) meal with three successfully married couples in Glasgow we just have to feel sorry for Nicky's dad who has been apparently getting this sort of stuff 24/7 since we announced. I think she really needs to realise that informality (and indeed realism and respect for the people we are) will be a key factor in the arrangement of the day. I already have clearance to ditch my suit for shorts at 9pm.

Still. Only another fiftyish weeks to go.
