Journey Through Time

Hawk at Steigerwald NWR

This is about as exciting as it got today, wildlife wise. An early morning eye appointment for Bill, which took over an hour to complete, then we had to pay a bill at a store which didn't open until 10 a.m. and we were right where the store was, so we went to Starbucks for coffee and a treat to wait for the store to open. That accomplished, bill paid and then we went to Steigerwald National Wildlife Refuge in Washougal, WA, not that far from where we were. We ended up on a 3 mile hike! It was quite warm and humid so the walk really warmed us up. There wasn't a lot to see, but I did get this of the hawk checking out the area from the fence post. Then it was back into our area and to the mall where Bill was going to order his glass frames from JCPenney. I still get my retired employee discount which helps out a lot. However, the lady was out to lunch, and the optical department was closed until 2 so we went to the library to take back my book and then we looked around the mall for a bit. Then, she was back so the glasses were ordered. We had to drop by the grocery to get an Rx and a few things and finally...HOME! I was starving. That was a long day for us old folks! HA

Tomorrow....Ridgefield with Debbi and her folks. Yay!!

Time to rest....see ya later.
