'Keith'

Firstly a huge thanks for everyone's lovely comments, stars and hearts for yesterdays blip. Very much appreciated.

Today we decided to head into the Digital Show 2013 at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre to check out the latest in digital technology and also to hopefully find a stranger to photograph for the blipfoto 'When You're a Stranger' project.

As soon as we entered the exhibition we were drawn into the Canon stand which was the very first stand at the left of the main entry, and noticed that they were running a Photo5 Live competition. There were 3 briefs to choose from today, Bubbles, Chopsticks / Close Up & Bokeh. We very quickly decided that we wanted to take part and registered our names on the iPads provided so we could be included. The idea was to take the brief items provided, take your shots with your own camera, bring them back to the stand and use one of the provided printers to print out your shot, then peg it to the entrants display wires for the category which you were entering. We had heaps of fun for the next hour or so doing this. The only processing allowed was whatever you could do on your camera and all images needed to be shot in jpeg format. We will wait and see how we did, but there were some really fabulous entries that we saw.

As we were going out of the Centre to have some lunch down at South Wharf we spotted a subject for the 'When You're a Stranger' project. A couple of very nice girls also there with their cameras to have a look around the exhibition. I asked Violet if she would like to be involved in the project and she said yes without hesitation. She was a very stylish young lady who had decorated her camera herself. This was one of the very first things I noticed about her. She was also very accommodating and asked he where I would like her to stand and what would I like her to be doing. I asked her if she could just stand over on the boardwalk in the sun, voila, took my shot, no idea how it will turn out but it was fun.

MsMun then asked Violet if she would mind her also taking a few shots of her once she explained about this Blip phenomenon and she was once again more than happy to model. MsMuns shots of her were much better than mine and hopefully she will be blipping her later tonight.

It was time to hand over the disposable camera to MsMun so she could find a subject for the project. We went back inside the exhibition and minutes later found 2 guys sitting down chatting along the back wall of the space. MsMun approached them and once again very willing participants. I took a few shots of the guys with our camera also. This is Keith, he has a face full of character and both of them were very charming guys. Let's hope that MsMun has done him justice in her 'When You're a Stranger' photo.

More shots from today HERE, including the lovely Violet and both Keith and his friend Noel. Thanks for everyone in making this such a great experience today.
