Life, not as we see it.

By GOT

Assisi evening.

Bit confused now as the dates have got a wee bit skewed. What says it is Friday's compilation is in fact Thursday's. So, now it's Saturday, we left Gualdo Tadino this morning and are now (Sat afternoon) in our hotel in Cattolica, on the Rimini Riviera. However, the composite above comprises Friday snaps. Got up early that morning to drive to a vantage spot to capture a shot of a fancy cut field on the opposite side of a valley. Sod, or "porco miserio" as we say here, had issued one of his bloody laws: When tourist wants smart ass photo, scene must be submerged in deep mist.. You will, I hope see that above.
Spent our last full day in Umbria relaxing by the pool. Mistake! Bitten by umpteen tiny zanzare, even smaller than our west highland midges. Just about the size and shape of a midge fart, if you can imagine that. You have to imagine it as it's too small to see. However, I digress.
Went to Assisi around 5pm - virtually no tourists. Caught God doing his thing with sunlight and clouds just as we approached the town. He also had a hand in the sunset view as we were returning to the car.
Had planned to eat out in Assisi, but decided to return to GT before darkness made the difficult road even more pericoloso for me,with my deteriorating night vision. That went OK except that we had difficulty in finding a restaurant in GT. Found 3. Two were devoid of character and thus empty. One was virtually full, and turned out to be better than mediocre.
Of to bed with a tube of Anthrisan.
Tomorrow, Sunday = MotoGP. Weather forecast should make for interesting tyre and bike set up choices, and of course clothing choices for us, especially after today's qualifying in hot & dry conditions. Watch it! We'll wave to you. :-) :-) :-)
