The Wild Boar

This was our hotel for our little weekend escape
The Wild Boar
It was steeped in history; the centre part of the hotel being the original house, built for timber merchant brothers in 1886. The brothers are also notable for completing the first recorded walk from Lands End to John O'groats in 1871 (which took them nine weeks)
Additional extensions have been placed either side of the original building, and over the years it has been use as a girls school, and also a restaurant.
It now seems to be a popular place for weddings and also has a very nice brasserie (where we dined last night).
I thought this was a more interesting blip than Cheshire Oaks Shopping Village (or Ikea) where we spent the day today.
