A little bit of peace!

Happened upon a small area in our busy little town called 'The Wildgrounds'. I have lived in this town pretty much all my life but its only since working in the school I am now (same town), that I realised that this place existed. Its taken us the last few years since becoming more interested in photography that we have really investigated our home town.

The 'Wildgrounds' are looked after by volunteers and some of the trees have been there for hundreds of years and it has now a nature reserve - housing birds, butterflies and even water voles. This part of the grounds are open to permit holders only and the beauty of that is that it remains quiet and unspoilt - a little piece of heaven in a busy little town. You wouldn't believe that it is surrounded by a housing estate!!!

These grounds are surrounded by other grounds called the Alver Valley and the Grange Farm - a 17th Century village.

We spent a couple of hours having a peaceful walk around taking photos. Although this image is a little blurred - I loved the water drop right in the middle.
A lovely Saturday morning spent enjoying the surroundings.
