Food Bank Celebration

We had an excellent time this evening at Seasalter Christian Centre (near Whitstable) to thank God for Canterbury Food Bank, to thank the volunteers and supporters and to look forward to how things might develop in the coming year.

Chrissie and Amy are cutting the cake, made by my talented wife, Diana. Amy and Chrissie got together to start the food bank after they had individually felt God putting this on their hearts. That was over two years ago, but it wasn't until January 2013 that Canterbury Food Bank was in a position to open its first distribution Centre.

Since then we have given out over 700 emergency food parcels containing over 14,000 items of food. The food bank covers the entire Canterbury City Council district, including Whitstable, Herne Bay and the villages, is supported by 27 churches and works with 63 agencies.
