We had to queue to get into the Basilica, not to pay but to go through airport style security. There was a queuing incident when a young German couple joined the queue in front of dozens of people including us. Gen told them in no uncertain terms that they should get to the back! Other German tourists also tried to explain in English, at that point they didn't know what Nationality the couple were, in a very polite way that they shouldn't just push their way in. When they discovered the couple were German, they weren't so polite.
