Muttley's Musings

Navvies

(Back Blip) The first day of the holiday saw me and the parents visiting a farmshop with a pair of camels for morning coffee, before we visit the Quarry and Mining Museum at Threlkeld to have a look at the vast collection of Navvies and diggers. This was heaven for my Dad who used to drive and also fix machines like this until he retired last year. Mum thought it was just a junk yard, and kept saying this will never run again when confronted with what appeared to another pile of junk held together by rust. She did manage to avoid my Dad getting recruited to help fix the machines.

This shot is a view of three of the machines that have been restored and are in working condition.

Afterwards we went to the Horse and Farrier Pub in Threlkeld village and had some amazing Fish and Chips and a lovely pint of Sneck Lifter.
