Rehabilitating The Check
Autumn is here. I dug out a scarf from the under-stairs cupboard this morning for the first time since about March. And what a fine scarf it is too. It's been a few years since I've dared to wear it, as the Burberry check managed to get itself a bit of an unsavoury reputation for a little while. But I think it's overdue a revival as a classy piece of British design -- we should reclaim it!
This particular garment pre-dates all that 'chav' nonsense actually, I remember getting it for Ann as a present from Harvey Nicks in Leeds many years ago, but then taking a shine to it myself and 'borrowing' it occasionally. Well, now's the time to proudly wear it in public again!
