Black gold

Today has been a day for sorting.

Went to the bank this morning to resolve the joint account issue. This took all of 10 minutes (which I'm pretty sure they could have sorted last week if they'd wanted to do).
Back home & time for a ruthless sort of the wardrobe and a trip to the tip, followed by a shopping spree for new bedding and curtains.

The plumber came round this afternoon to put some cleaning solution in the central heating system; it would appear this was a very good idea!

He had to drain a radiator before he could put the solution in and this was what came out....eeww! It was like oil.

This will work its way round the system now for the next 3 weeks, slowly breaking down the deposits that have obviously accrued over the years.

Before he installs the new system, it will all be flushed through to make sure none of this crud is left behind.

Can't wait to finally have a warm house for winter!
