Music appreciation

We went over to the World Pipe Band Championship at Glasgow Green this afternoon and as we were approaching the turnstiles, we stopped to watch some of the bands doing their warm-ups ahead of appearing in the arenas.

Here the Pasedena Scottish Pipes & Drums, all the way from California, were running through their routine. It sounded pretty good to my untutored ears although you wouldn't think so from the Boy's reaction... (in truth, I think he just doesn't like any loud noise he isn't creating himself...)

I decided he probably wouldn't appreciate being up close and personal with loads of bands in full flow so we decided to skip it and headed instead for Coia's, one of our favourite cafes in the East End.
