Not Aimed at You!..........

............This was taken at St. Botolph's Church in Quarrington, which is a suburb of the market town of Sleaford, Lincolnshire, UK.
The village can be traced back to Anglo-Saxon times when it was a hamlet of about 1,500 acres, and a church is listed in the Domesday Book. The present church building, which dates back to the early 13th century and is dedicated to St. Botolph, is built of Ancaster stone. (Another village just a few miles away where there is still a large quarry).
There is a good, early C14 S door, at the top of which is this boss of a man putting his tongue out! Have hunted high and low to try to find out why he is there but to no avail - perhaps to keep the devil out or to show complete contempt for him and say “We are not frightened of you - this is what we think of you, so keep out!” In olden days, I am a bit surprised it didn't keep some of the more superstitious villagers away!

Not a bad morning - the wind has dropped and there are blue skies but a few heavy clouds too - Temperature is around 50 Deg.F.
