Anchored

This anchor was fished up from the seafloor 10km north and 6km out to sea from Timaru and was presented to Timaru by the owner of the vessel that fished it up. The pot on the other hand is a bit different,if you were to ask my friends the Rosewarnes when they were in Timaru 12 months ago, they would tell you it was used by the local natives to cook people in. The old cast iron pot is a Whaling Trypot which was used to render whale blubber down to extract oil. There are a number of these pots along our coastline reminding us of days gone by.
