Which Road?

With His Lordship's hill walking companions still on holiday, he was desperate to commune with the sheep near Coulter and suggested that we take our newly acquired cycle touring tent to the hills to practise pitching it, far from the madding crowd likely to eavesdrop on any bad language which might ensue in the struggle.

However despite the strong wind and the plethora of sheep droppings at the chosen site on the road to Cowghill reservoir, the new acquisition was voted much easier to put up than the old one, and apart from a backward man flip over a guy line and a hat taking leave of its owner, the language passed muster, I think.

On the back road from Coulter to Broughton we saw this sign post in a garden at a junction with a road to Biggar. We had come from the 'better' direction.
