Is it lunchtime yet?

It's a few months since our friend A told us about this unusual sundial on a borie (hut) in the vines near Fabrezan. His directions weren't very accurate, and we went on a couple of fruitless expeditions looking for it. By dint of asking other people, S managed to find it while I was away last week, so at lunchtime today we popped out to have a look at it.

You have to go at lunchtime, because the particularity of this sundial is that the only hours marked on it are 12 o'clock and 2 o'clock, since those are clearly the only hours that matter when you are working in the vines. You will need to go large to (faintly) see the lines and Roman numerals on the inset photo. As long as the line is between those marks, you can carry on with your lunch/siesta.

Note: For demonstration purposes, we took a broomhandle along with us. As you can see in the main picture, the pointer is missing, so the sundial isn't really any use any more! S used the broomhandle to demonstrate that it does work. It was a lovely sunny day -- perfect conditions.
