Lianne La Havas

Jam packed day today!

We started off by going down to the estuary and watching the paddle boarding lessons. There was a 'pirate workshop' going on on the stone boat for the kids. One little boy made us roar when he told the pirate his name was Matt. 'Ah, Mighty Matt of the Seven Seas be your pirate name', says the pirate. 'No, just Matt', replied Matt!

Then went to see a film about a day in London made 10 years ago and put together by St Etienne (the soundtrack was done by them too). London has changed so much in the last ten years!

There was the carnival through the town, a brass band in the Piazza, a dance performance and the Northern Soul dance class. Raves in the woods and clay faces on trees.

Watched Jagwar Ma who were brilliant, and Tricky who was phenomenal - it took too long to put his stage together so he was only on for half an hour, which was really annoying. He did a brilliant version of Ace of Spades!!

Then it was this lady. I love her album but her set was stunning. My friend doesn't normally like female singers but fell in love with Lianne half way through the first song! Beautiful voice.

Watched Spark and the 'light parade'. They're a group of drummers whose drums light up as they drum. Really really good - plus there were people with lampshades on their heads, which I believe is something to do with The Prisoner.

When we got to the main area, Dream Engine were doing their performance. Basically a girl hanging for a large balloon doing acrobatics - stunning. It was close run thing of whether she would be the photo for today or Lianne.

Then went to have a look at My Bloody Valentine. They were very loud. Probably to cover up the fact that they were absolute rubbish! Back up to the tent for a drink in the bar and then bed.

Better weather today, but extremely cold tonight!
