Leith street art

There have been a few murals appearing on various walls and surfaces in and around Leith recently.

This piece by Guido van Helten is painting a scene from an Edinburgh International Festival production of Macmillan’s version of Seven Deadly Sins, performed at Festival and King’s Theatres, Edinburgh in 1961.
It represents the split personality of the heroine which could be interpreted as a reference to the relationship between Edinburgh and Leith!"

It appeared recently on a shop front on Leith Walk that has lain empty for years. Guido was also commissioned by Glasgow City Council to do work for the 2014 Commonwealth Games.
