"Mexican" Weather

I got an e-mail from a friend who said he is looking forward to getting back to warm Mexican weather, but he would be in for a surprise if he were in Zihuatanejo today. Tropical Storm Manuel is aimed directly at us and we are experiencing torrential rains coupled with some pretty incredible winds. Most of the named storms pass by Zihua far out to sea, but this storm is determined to land near town if the projected storm track is accurate. I took advantage of a brief break to catch a bus to town and stock up before we are forced to hibernate at our safe, secure condo.

I shot a few photos out the front window of the bus because I could not believe the driver had any idea where he was going with his limited visibility (the wipers didn’t work on either side). I particularly liked how this shot showed the young man hurrying for the bus in the rain (which had once again started) and the ghost hand paying the 6.50 peso fare. The buses are like the postal service of old, "neither rain (torrential in this case) nor snow nor gloom of night".
