Bubblin' Crude

So much water with no place to go. We have heard the many stories of water bubbling from the manholes downtown when it rains, but never experienced it until this latest storm. With so much rain in the past three days, I was not surprised to see this phenomena in more than one spot on my ride through town. All of central Zihuatanejo is after all built over reclaimed swampland and I think a majority of the “tourist” area adjacent to the basketball court is near or below sea level. In their typical accepting way, the vendors in the craft market simply alerted motorists to the potential hazard with this chair and went about their business as usual.
