Street Art

Today I was invited down to Merchant City Cameras to get a sneak preview and try out the new Olympus E-M1 before its launch next month.

The OMD EM1 is the new flagship camera from Olympus. This mirrorless camera is based on the Micro Four Thirds standard, but the great thing about this camera is the new 16 Megapixel sensor with on-chip phase-detection, allowing the EM1 to quickly autofocus when fitted with old Four Thirds lenses via an adapter. From the short time I used the camera I was impressed by the handling and quality of this beautiful camera, and it worked wonderfully well with my existing lenses. Some say this much awaited camera could see a revolution in the photography world and possibly be the end of the conventional DSLR. It is over forty years since Olympus pushed the standards with the fabulous OM1, and it looks like the new EM1 has broken the mould again.

On the way back along the Merchant City in the rain, I spotted this fabulous street art of images depicting Badminton for next years Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.
