Keeping those knees warm!

Today Graham received a belated surprise present from his friend Sharon for his birthday. The note that came with this read as follows:

"When I realised this was such a special birthday, I knew there was only one gift I could send, a nice blanket to keep your knees warm now the evenings are getting cooler. I chose the colours specially as I know that nice bright colours are appreciated by those with advancing years"

Tongue in cheek sentiments of aging, aside - the blanket itself is a work of art. Vibrant and rich in colour; it is beautifully crafted too. I know I've blipped today in sepia (looking for excuses to try out more funky features) but I'm sure this comforter, in all it's technicolour glory, will feature soon.

The delay in sending the blanket was explained in the accompanying letter; it had been entered in a local show. It was also a wonderful surprise therefore to find the show's "1st Place" card wrapped inside the gift! This is testament to the beauty and quality of this handmade article.
