Pulpit Detail, Queen's Cross Church, Glasgow

Doors Open Day Weekend

We only had time for one visit today ... and decided it had to be The Mackintosh Church, Queen's Cross, Maryhill, Glasgow (1899). It is now the home of the Charles Rennie Mackintosh Society.

The pulpit is beautifully carved with plant growth, seed and bird imagery, and these themes recur throughout the building.

The visit also turned into a Blipmeet, as Stuart Robertson is Director of the Charles Rennie Mackintosh Society. What a place to have your office. He very kindly spent some time with us, talking about the building, and pointing out details. We also discussed other CRM locations. A pleasure to meet you Stuart. Thank you.

Visit to Govanhill Baths yesterday.
