The Beach Seat

This old railway sleeper has been sitting on the edge of Belhaven Beach near the sand dunes for some months now. There is a scrap of rope attached to it perhaps indicating that at some stage it was used by a boat, maybe to anchor it to the shore but it obvious broke loose at some point and was carried by the tide to its current resting place.

At some point someone has tried to set a fire on it producing the mearest hint of a black charcoal dint. It is obviously a fairly comfortable seat for those who feel inclined to rest their weary limbs. It also makes an ideal children's adventure playground. Last week it was adorned with a row of feathers sticking in the crack at the far end.

Today it had obviously been used as a seat by a child (or possibly an adult with a hint of OCD) who had set up this little cube of razor shells. What were these meant to be - gravestones, a fortification or just rows of shells. We will never know but they caught my eye and fascinated me enough to take a quick blip.
