Tony

This is Tony.

I met him in Grafton Street this afternoon during an extended photo-wander. He'd spotted me taking this shot of a plaque on the front of Bewley's café which i hadn't spotted before and proceeded to tell me the history of Whytes Academy, told me how graduating students were required to stand up in front of their peers and their parents and give a lecture. He spoke of the emphasis which Samuel Whyte placed on poetry as an aid to public speaking, and regaled me with several extended poetic quotations.

I thoroughly enjoyed our encounter, so much so that, for the first time ever since starting on Blipfoto, I formally asked Tony if I could take his photograph. He readily agreed.

As I say, I spent a fair while today clicking away quite happily. Meeting Tony was a highlight, and I was anxious to post today's blip before doing any back-blipping. The ugly Blip-gap will be filled shortly, but not just yet.
