Messing about with boats

After spending time on a cruise around the lake and a wander around Bowness-on-Windermere we drove down to our hotel in Newby Bridge on the River Leven at the southern end of Lake Windermere.

These Sunday sailors were making a complete hash of it by managing to run aground and getting their boat stuck. Action man took charge by jumping in and pushing it away from the bank while the guy at the back waved his boat hook around and the helmsman pointed the boat in the wrong direction. Meanwhile, the distaff members of the crew offered support and extra ballast at the pointy end.

They were last spotted heading upriver towards Lake Windermere. I guess they made it eventually as there was no evidence of any wreckage floating downriver.
