Danger - Low Flying Emperors!

Once the mist and rain cleared it turned into a nice day, attracting some of the heavyweight dragonflies - this Emperor in particular was throwing his weight around and I was strafed constantly when in the vicinity of the pond. I tried (with moderate success) to get head on shots, this one and this one showing how the wings operate independently, making them skilled aeronauts.
Less skilled in the air was this young woodpecker who was making a lot of noise about something or other.
It's my hospice day tomorrow. I go each Thursday now, meeting some remarkable people.
