False Chanterelle

I took another quick visit to the ranges today in search of some interesting seedheads, but found more mushrooms!

These were growing in a depression in the ground from a fallen tree. I managed to get under the caps looking up with the camera laid on the ground supported by pine cones - the articulated screen on my Canon 60D is a boon for this type of shot.

I originally thought they where waxcaps, but they were too yellow and dry. The next candidate was a cooks favourite: Chanterelle. However a further search came up with False Chanterelle - and definitely not edible.
