Out of a Clear Blue Sky

Once the early mist had burned off, it was another gloriously sunny day. I thought I would explore an area quite near home where a lot of birds are always reported by our local bird group. I was not disappointed. I saw large flocks of goldfinch, linnet, meadow pipits, starlings and lapwings, a wren, a sparrowhawk, some lesser black backed gulls, crows, rooks, pheasant, a yellowhammer and this kestrel.
One of the joys of getting past your first year on blip is seeing the thumbnails of last years's blips. I was surprised when I realised that I had been down to the River Don on the same day last year, and yesterday's blip of one year ago was a kestrel. I must be a creature of habit!
