Classical architecture, meet 21st century

This is the Museum de Fundatie in Zwolle, Netherlands. It was built in 1841 as the Municipal Courts but is now an excellent art gallery. The pod on top gives two extra floors of gallery space and was opened this year.

There were several interesting exhibitions inside: sculptor and painter Marino Marini, a wide ranging one 'From Turner to Appel', photographer Pieter Henket and (my favourite) painter Jeroen Krabbé.

If you should ever find yourself in Zwolle, there's an excellent bar restaurant across the road from the gallery.
