Tiny Tussock Reporting

A lay day as there was a sporting event being held in the town and we were worried about the possible impact.
The first alarm was at breakfast as there were a LOT of folk forming a line for that and some fancy footwork required to even get a table never mind the toast, but in a flash we looked up and found everyone gone, to the race perhaps.
Catching up at "The Coffee Place" we were able to watch a stream of maybe 10,000 competitors pouring down the street in what looked like a fun affair. It was an overcast and chilly day so very appropriate day for the event.

OH and I forgot to tell a story from yesterday.
Folk familiar with North America will know that nearly all non fancy eateries use the self clearing table system similar to Macdonalds in NZ where you take your cardboard plates and chuck them in a bin on the way out….OK?

WELL there was this very American lady, previously referred to on this journal, who was with us and very familiar with the above system, dining with us at the Chateau Lake Louise, where real china is used at their cafeteria (in keeping with the very high class atmosphere) and when she had finished her meal she ..…….OH DEAR!!!!!

It was quite noisy I recall.

Meanwhile, back at Banff the lay day was very successful and the local economy way greatly richened and the team were greatly delighted especially The Boss who scored a pair of Photographers gloves that keep your hands toasty warm but allow your shutter finger and control wheel thumb to pop out when desired. Wonderful for Wanaka winters.

The iPhone got a Grrreat workout and tech folk should check here, and todays image was the only time the Olympus came out.

Salute the flag?
