Oktoberfest #11: Schaustellerstraße

Oktoberfest #11: Carny Road

Today's blip is taken from the top of the bell tower of St. Paul's church, which is open to the public only during Oktoberfest. It shows the so called Schaustellerstraße, Carny Road, where most of the fun rides are located. Parallel to the right would be Wirtsbudenstraße, Landlord Road, where the big beer tents are. The larger rides to the left of the street are Cobra roller coaster (yellow), Wild Mouse roller coaster (purple-orange), Wildwasserbahn log flume (brown), Alpina-Bahn roller coaster (blue-green) and Höllenblitz ghost ride (black). At the end of the street is Olympia Looping, the largest portable roller coaster in the world and the only one with 5 loops. The two towers to the right are Alex Airport swing ride (orange) and Power Tower II (blue), one of two free fall towers at Oktoberfest.

I actually intended to take a night shot, but the bell tower closes at 6 o'lock on Tuesdays due to mass, which made that endeavour technically impossible. Maybe tomorrow!

For the last few days (starting here more than a week ago) and until the end of Oktoberfest, the biggest beer festival in the world, I will post a picture of the festivities every day as I'm going to be there pretty much every day. So if you are interested stop by - I hope you'll enjoy it!
