Helix Project : Kelpies under Construction

The Helix project is a development taking shape near Falkirk where the Forth- Clyde Canal joins the River Carron. In due course it will provide a recreational amenity but will also be a place for education, training and business enterprise. Dominating the area are two large sculptures of Kelpies by Andy Scott: they are still under construction but already they are impressive pieces of art. Other blippers have posted pictures of them in recent times and no doubt they will feature regularly in future. I grabbed this shot- which is not brilliant!- on my way home from Falkirk today from the Carron Walkway just beyond the motorway bridge
