Solace Day 8: The River Trent

Another glorious day, we came through the Stoke Lock and the River Trent spread calm and wide before us. The scenery was breathtaking!

Another thing that pleased me today was seeing flocks of peewits (lapwings, green plovers), I haven't seen these at home for about 20 years.

We got nicely to Cromwell Lock at the time of day we would have moored for the night: this was the end of our journey downstream. Once through this lock we would be into tidal water and we haven't the equipment or skills for that!
