The Icelandic Sagas - Pining for the Fjords

Today started with a sunrise shoot except sunrise is a funny business here. It just seemed to lighten, then there was a bit of colour in the sky and you noticed having shorter shutter speeds as the light intensified.

Breakfast and then on to a deserted herring factory. We followed the coastline around the fjords and over snow covered hills. The factory ceased operating in the 1930's. Apparently the fish just disappeared. It was concrete ruins with a house that looked like the Amityville horror.

Back for shooting around the old herring factory here and then dinner.

This shot was taken on the way over to the herring factory. The mountain behind the stacks was quite a feature on the landscape.
