Catch!

Backblipped 7th October

No rain today! So headed down to Degibna just out of Helston to do the walk around The Loe (Cornwall's largest freshwater lake) and down to Loe Bar. We've done it several times before and it really is a lovely walk. Particularly when the sun comes out! Had a wee coffee on the shoreline and Bill had fun trying to catch the stones that James was throwing - lots of fun!

Back to the car and onto Porthleven to Roland's Happy Plaice for lunch. Definitely the best fish and chips ever - especially when eaten in the sunshine at the harbour!

Wee wander round taking in the sights and watching the surfers (really wished I'd had a longer lens on the camera!), followed by a cheeky pint up at The Ship Inn in the sunshine overlooking the harbour. Had fun with a bit of people watching too - a couple down below us had their drinks and ate their food whilst reading their books and smoking! Zero chat!

Then down to Poldhu Cove for a coffee and cake and a play in sea. Followed by a wee wander down at Mullion Cove and a drink up at the hotel on the headland. Took our drinks over to the bench overlooking the sea and it was just ace sitting there with the sun on our faces, smelling the sea air and chilling.

Got back and ordered 10kg of fish to take home with us on Sunday from Kernowsashimi - James assures me there's space in the freezer.

Another exciting scrabble game - for me at least as I used all 7 for the first time! Buttered - on triple word - and even if James had gone there before me I still could have played on another triple word! 80 points!

Ace fish pie for dinner.

Scrabble update:
6:3 to me

Pasty scores:
0 but 10* from both of us for the fish and chips!
