The occasional twinge

I am really enjoying living in Japan, it's a fascinating place and I'm one of those lucky people who absolutely loves their job. Just occasionally however I get a little twinge of homesickness, strangely enough not for dear old blighty but for Jordan. A place of incredible beauty and where I made some very, very good and hopefully lifelong friends. It was also the place that opened my horizons to living and working abroad and gave me the confidence to move here.

My table, originally a Syrian panel, gives me endless pleasure and brings back many, many fond memories.

Maybe you had to leave in order to really miss a place; maybe you had to travel to figure out how beloved your starting point was.
