Apple juice in the making!

Richard has been collecting all the fallen apples from the 4-5 trees we have out front and using this amazing press that Terry built many years ago, to produce absolutely delicious apple juice. I'm not a huge fan of apple juice, not because it is store bought, but just because i usually find it too acidic. But not this stuff....it is sweet and smooth. Watching this process is always such a lot of fun! First the apples are ground up into small pieces, which is what is being done here, then the big screw in the background is used to press a large lid on top of the crumbled up apples.....producing the liquid gold out the bottom... maybe i can get a shot of the whole press tomorrow!
