A Shakespearian Happy Ending

So, a conclusion to the murder mystery (see parts 1, 2, 3 and 4). After running many forensic tests, PC Plod has had to admit defeat and return Yorick to Hamlet without being able to press any charges at all. It turns out that Yorick did not die a gruesome and cruel death at the hands of a Lego villain, and wasn't even robbed from a grave (as really should have been the case), instead tell tale marks indicate that he was part of a teaching skeleton. Hamlet, of course, is extremely relieved, particularly as has PC Plod done everything by the book, he might have found out that Strathclyde Police have an historical offence on their books - theft of a teaching skeleton - but as he tried to go it alone, he wasn't able to access their records system, and Hamlet is safe. PC Plod may be wondering why on Earth Hamlet ran and kept running, but there's nothing he can do now. Phew!
