Champion Breakfast for Proud New Dad!

Another live blip with another pint of beer in the pub!

Today I went to Padstow to have a look around the fishing village. In a similar way to St Ives there is a harbour and lots of narrow streets with brightly painted cottages. Padstow is also home to the various Rick Stein sea food restaurant enterprises, including the Sea Food Cafe. I called in here to sample the Full English Breakfast as a holiday treat. It was a delightful little cafe shop in a side street, nicely furnished and the food was superb as you can see here. And yes Dad that is Black Pudding on my plate!

After my breakfast I took a walk along the harbour and visited the National Lobster Hatchery, which is where lobsters are bred in a controlled environment and then released back into the wild once they are old enough and strong enough to survive in the wild. It was interesting to see the different stages that the lobsters grow through, and you can see Lobsters that had been born last night right through to some pretty impressive 'show' examples in display tanks. They also invite you to adopt a Lobster for £2.50, so I am now a proud father of a baby Lobster who is likely to be released into the wild in February next year.

I also took a walk along part of the Camel Trail, which is a footpath/cycleway along the route of the old Atlantic Coast Express train from Wadebridge to Padstow. It was quite pleasant walking along the old line on the banks of the Camel estuary.

I'm now off to research what to do tomorrow.
