Hide and Seek

red admiral

The sun broke through in the late afternoon, so on a hunch 5yo and I headed to the community garden. As we started to play hide and seek, a single Red Admiral joined us.

The last sighting of a Red Admiral for our Vice-County (64: Mid-west Yorkshire) in 2012 was September 9th, so this one is more than a month later. The warmth has been keeping them up late.

Will this be our last butterfly of the year?
