CairnGorm Mountain

Day 4 - Tuesday This morning the plan was to go up the funicular railway to the top station at 3500 feet. We needed a reasonably clear day to get any views but as we got up and had difficulty seeing the end of the garden decided to wait a bit to see if it would clear. We did end up heading off just after lunch when the cloud had thinned and the mist cleared. We were lucky to get a place on the guided walk to the top as they put on an additional guide to let us go. The guide was very informative and the views were impressive from the summit of Britain's 6th highest mountain. Next time we will walk all the way up. We ate in Anderson's restaurant in Boat of Garten, it was excellent, so excellent that we never managed to get another booking for the rest of the week as they were too full to fit the 6 of us in!
