Scratching

This chap was back burning not far from my house. Tricky getting ash out of your eyes with those gloves on.

I haven't taken any photos of the real action as rubberneckers are frowned upon, and as far as the fireys are concerned, that's what I'd be.

The latest alert has been plain: if you don't have a reason to stay in the mountains, leave.
I probably will, but I keep thinking of my friends whose house burnt down last week.
Apparently the windows exploded and the fire was started by embers coming in.
Had they stayed it's more than likely the house would still be standing.
