Passing the baton

Nice ad for a watch company, and an interesting proposition to not own something, but to be the custodian for a future generation. It's just a new take on a well-worn concept though, most famously in my thoughts just now is the Native American passing on land. I've heard a similar thought described as 'passing on the baton', or of course from a sporting perspective, the previous winner slips a new green jacket onto the new winner.

Major restructuring in my place of work announced yesterday, but such change has to be welcomed and embraced. The alternative is of course less edifying, and perhaps the future will be such, but for now, it's business as usual and we move on. Not quite bequeathing the rather expensive unnecessary wrist appendage to your first-born, but perhaps a moment to take stock and wonder if the future picture will be a photocopy of the current or if it will offer a radically new perspective. As the ad hints, time will tell.
