Beware colours

A year ago I had just got back from visiting my sister, S, who lives in Greece, and was mooching round in the dank greyness of England pining for the sun. How different October is this year!

Finding this bit of vibrancy in today’s sun reminded me of an email S sent me last week about a sign she’d seen on a ferry near some recent repainting. Where an English sign would say WET PAINT, the Greek sign (literally translated) read BEWARE COLOURS, ‘colours’ (χρωματα) being Greek for paint.

I think I’ll try and beware of some more colours tomorrow. They are changing as you watch them just at the moment and are dramatically different from one day to the next.
